System Engineer Global Infrastructure (m/f/d)

The IT department is part of the Central Services that supports the market-oriented divisions of Comet Group at 15 locations worldwide. It is responsible for the operation, maintenance and further development of Comet IT Services, the network and the infrastructure.

Due to succession planning in our IT team, we are looking for a team-oriented and energetic professional to join our IT team in Central Services in Flamatt (CH) or Hamburg (D) as System Engineer Global Infrastructure (m/f/d).

What will you do?

• Monitoring the server and network infrastructure with regard to availability and utilization
• Responsibility for installation, configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Windows servers and clients (on premise and Microsoft Cloud)
• Operation, adaption and optimization of the backup infrastructure
• Installation, delivery and testing of software components in the data center including change management
• Localization and containment of malfunctions including initiation of appropriate fallback and/or escalation procedures
• Ensuring information security for IT Services based on agreed service levels and defined security profiles
• Planning and implementation of IT infrastructure projects
• Scripting and documentation of technical concepts and solutions
• Second/Third level support in cooperation with internal and external partners

Who are we looking for?

• Completed higher education in the field of information technology
• Several years of professional experience as a System Engineer in an international environment
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft tools in the areas of mailing, communication and server environment
• Good knowledge of the Cisco/Meraki Networks environment and NetApp storage systems
• Distinct team player mentality, high customer orientation in intercultural competence
• Willingness to work for our international locations outside of normal office hours
• Very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written
