The Global Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for the implementation and execution of Comet’s Supplier Quality Management System in compliance with all applicable quality systems and semiconductor standards (CE!). He/she will be responsible for supplier assessment, qualification, selection and development from a supplier quality perspective. He/she will be responsible for ensuring suppliers continue to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements and continue to meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction.



  • Develop and communicate Comet’s expectations for quality performance, continuous improvement, quality systems, process controls and capabilities to suppliers.
  • Lead supplier qualification program assessing compliance of suppliers with regulatory requirements as well as global policies, standards & procedures.
  • Develop supplier audit schedule. Conduct supplier quality audits to determine adherence to acceptable quality regulations and requirements. Issue audit observations, development plan and follow-up with suppliers on audit observations to ensure follow through.
  • Measure, track, and report supplier performance on KPIs and corresponding continuous improvement plans on a regular (monthly/quarterly/yearly) basis.
  • Manages root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA) process of supplier quality issues. Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions.
  • Mentor and coach supplier quality engineers in best practices in supplier quality systems, process controls, problem solving and statistical tools.
  • Ensures suppliers continue to develop and implement best practices that emphasizes defect prevention, reduction in variation and continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of sourcing and supplier strategy as well as supplier selection.
  • Works with engineering (design and manufacturing) and QA teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier risk assessments for strategic and approved suppliers.
  • Manage and maintain qualification status for existing approved suppliers.
  • Support new product launches to ensure suppliers can deliver to the required quality standards.
  • Harmonize SOPs, master specifications and testing where applicable.



  • Minimum 8 years of experience in supplier quality management, including quality systems, standards, KPIs, tools and supplier development
  • BS degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business Management, or other related field of study.
  • Experience in electronics component manufacturing, preferably semiconductor assembly process, including but not limited to wafer processing, PCB, plating
  • Experience and demonstrated success of working across cultures.
  • Strong experience in developing business process and procedures.
