The Division Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) is Comet’s largest division and a global leader in developing and producing high-performance Vacuum Capacitors, RF Matches and RF Generators for the semiconductor industry.



Buyer is responsible for procurement of materials as well as continuous management of the MRP signals between Comet and suppliers 


What will you be doing?

    • Place Purchase Orders for direct materials per requirements driven by MRP

    • Ensure timely uninterrupted materials availability per planning requirements

    • Work with Planning analyze planning requirements to ensure materials availability for production

    • Communicate with Supply Chain/Materials managers to review material deliveries to complete work order demands, as required

    • Review non-compliant issues and order changes and work with manufacturing engineers and supply chain team members to schedule replacements or repairs

    • Communicate issues with engineering change orders (ECO) and coordinate phasing in of the new revisions.

    • Issue quotes, in coordination with Supply Chain/Materials Managers

    • Make sure that Materials Master data and Info records are updated as required

    • Review MRP open order POs and manage pull-in / push-out signals as required

    • Respond to all supplier communication promptly

    • Have regular meetings with the suppliers to maintain strong relationship

    • Own primary accountability for OTD supplier performance >98%

    • Own resolution of order and delivery related supplier problems / escalation processes

    • Provide backup support for other buyers during absence

    • Work with Accounting to resolve invoicing issues

    • Additional projects may be assigned, as required


Who are we looking for?

    • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree preferred

    • Minimum 5 years Purchasing experience

    • Microsoft Outlook, SAP and Excel proficiency
