COMET Technologies USA is the headquarters as well as an important sales, distribution and service hub for the COMET Group. From this modern facility, we provide our innovative COMET X-ray and ebeam source technology and portable X-ray systems to leading manufacturers, research labs and government sites within North and South America.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform failure analyses (FAs) on customer returns and escalated issues and determine trends
  • Track and report on RMA failure trends by product and cause
  • Work with the Customer Quality Engineering team to prioritize FAs
  • Ensure in-depth FAs are conducted for true root cause determinations using 8D methods
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and providers to determine root causes of failures
  • Report out to departments concerned and ensure lessons are learnt and incorporated into practice for measurable continuous improvements in product quality and reliability; track progress
  • Present findings coherently and succinctly to stakeholders and customer (FARs)
  • Work with Operations team for faster RMA responses to customers
  • Support FMEAs, debug training and transfer of technical information to the global repair centers

 

Skills:

 

  • 4-yr degree with 5-10 years of experience in a similar technical environment; Master’s degree in a technical discipline preferred
  • Have a strong hardware engineering (RF/electrical/mechanical) background, including Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering; working knowledge of SAP and Configuration Management Systems a plus
  • Prior experience with in-depth FA of h/w and good troubleshooting/problem solving skills from product level to component level required
  • Experience with 8D methods, FMEAs; familiarity with JIRA
  • Expert technical skills in engineering principles, methods, and industry standard “best practices” in a manufacturing/test environment for box build
  • Proven collaborations skills in a corporate environment
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation and presentations to customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly grasp professional concepts and make them easily understandable
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office
  • On-site as-required, remote-work when possible
  • This Job requires someone who is more dependable and reliable than spontaneous
