COMET Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) is a leading expert in RF power delivery and a global innovation partner of RF related businesses. Our customers are primarily manufacturers in the semiconductor and adjacent industries.

Responsibilities:

 

Support the development of COMET custom matching network products and accessories:

  • Design of electro-mechanical enclosures, mechanical mounting / support components, and cable routing
  • Collaborate with other R&D engineers to conceptualize, design, prototype, and productize matching networks
  • Create 3D CAD models (SolidWorks), detail drawings, and related documentation, for procurement & release
  • Role requires experience in change – control engineering
    • Generate ECR/O’s, using our ERP system (SAP), following Comet processes
    • Support change requests related to both Mechanical R&D and Mechanical Sustaining Engineering

 

Additional duties and responsibilities (operational / tactical)

  • Ability to solve complex design issues through a structured problem-solving methodology
  • Participate in design and project reviews
  • Actively support mechanical R&D engineering activities
  • Interface with internal customers and external vendors as needed
  • Work with NPI and Manufacturing engineers to investigate and resolve issues

 

Position requirements (experience / technical skills / education)

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering desired, will consider other degree or experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical design; within the semiconductor industry preferred
  • SolidWorks (2019) 3D modelling, detail drawings, and related documentation
  • Fabrication processes of metal and plastic parts, sheet-metal forming, coating, and plating
  • Joining and fastener methods for machined, sheet-metal, and plastic parts
  • Electro-Mechanical packaging and support structures
  • Experience in tolerance stack analysis
  • High level of knowledge in ANSI drafting standards, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Solidworks simulation (static, modal, thermal, etc.) is a plus

Functional skill sets

  • Proficient with MS Office applications (day to day activities) and Adobe Acrobat (generate red-lines and labels)
  • Experience supporting / administrating Solidworks customization, tools, and add-in’s is a plus
  • Experience with SAP, and/or Atlassian’s Jira, and/or Atlassian’s Confluence tools is a plus

  • Must be a team player
  • Flexibility to deal with sudden changes in direction and assignments
  • Able to work in a controlled documentation environment following standards set by management
  • Willing to ask questions/challenge inputs when they do not seem correct
  • Must be able to communicate and work with all levels of personnel within the organization
  • Must be able to speak and write English proficiently

 

The target salary range for this job is approximately $165,000 to $175,000 annually. Offered salaries may vary from posted range based on candidate experience level.
